Provider Relief Funds
In March 2020, the Federal Government allocated $178B to hospitals, health services (nursing homes) emergency workers, healthcare providers to: offset costs related to COVID, improve quality/delivery of care and enhance existing facilities, ventilation & infrastructure (according to ASHRAE and CDC recommendations). In June 2021—Congress clarified fund distribution specifics & added $8.5B for rural providers alone. This allocation has been called Provider Relief Funds and has been overseen/delivered through HHS over 4 rounds. Rounds 1-3 have been completed while Round 4 is just kicking off as of July 1st 2021 just beginning on July 1st 2021.
